How Blow-In
Insulation Works

Blow-in insulation consists of small particles of fiber, foam, or other materials. These small particles form an insulation material that can conform to any space without disturbing structures or finishes. This ability to conform makes blow-in insulation well suited for retrofits and locations where it would be difficult to install other types of insulation.

Blow-in insulation is a worthy investment for your home because it comes with so many benefits! Some of these benefits include:

  • Powerful Insulator

  • Noise Reduction

  • Incredible Energy Savings

  • Better Temperature Control

  • Air-tight Seal

  • Easy Installation

  • Long Life-Span

  • Improve Fire Resistance

  • Prevent Moisture Damage

Made from recycled newspaper, cardboard, and other wood-based materials, blow-in cellulose is treated with boric acid and other substances that make it flame resistant and mold-resistant. It is then packaged in tightly packed bales or bags. Installation involves the use of a blower that churns up the cellulose material with paddles to loosen it and mix it with air, then blows the fluffy insulation through hoses to wherever it is required.

Roofing Works

Shingles are part of an integrated roofing system, and to understand that system, you need to know that your roof has layers. It’s not just your shingles keeping you dry: it’s how they work with the entire roof to ensure that your home is safe. Having a well-insulated and ventilated home helps reduce moisture that can lead to mold growth and other health hazards that could harm you and your family.

Shingle roofing is not just about keeping your home safe from water but also helping to make your home more beautiful. Some other benefits include:

  • Versatility

  • Can Withstand High Winds

  • Class A Fire Rating

  • Sound Protection

  • Easy Installation

  • Cost-Effective Quality

  • Improved Weather-Resistance

We use asphalt shingles that are nailed to the roof, and they’re also nailed to each other. This helps prevent them from lifting up during a wind storm. Adhesive that comes on the shingles also attaches them, providing extra reassurance that the shingles will not fly off the roof. This adhesive is heat-activated so the shingles overlap and water doesn’t move into the cracks between them. Overall, your roof is designed to be a system that has multiple layers of protection to avoid water ingress. We also do hot tar roofing as well.

To measure the height of your existing window, go from the bottom of the head jamb to the top of the window sill.  For a truly accurate reading, measure the window at three locations - the left, middle and right of the window - and then take the smallest measurement. Use this as your reading because your window may have shifted over the years and maybe uneven.

To measure the width of the existing window, go from the jamb on the left side of the window to the jamb on the right side of the window. Again, for a truly accurate reading, measure the window at three locations - the top, middle and the bottom of the window - selecting the shortest distance as your true measurement due to the window shifting over the years.

Free Online Painting Estimate Process

Online Painting Estimate
Step 1

Before we begin painting your home's interior walls, ceiling, woodwork, doors, or windows, you need us to give you a free online estimate of your project. Estimates require specific calculations for each surface you want to paint.  In order to estimate the amount of paint we need in order to cover the walls of a room, add together the length of all the walls and then multiply the number by the height of the room, from floor to ceiling. The number you get is the room's square footage.

Now you have to determine how much of that square footage is paintable surface area. Because you use a different paint on the doors and windows, subtract those areas from the room total. Now just subtract 20 square feet for each door and 15 square feet for each average-sized window in the room. You will end up with a number that is close to the actual wall area that we need to have in order to paint the room.

Step 2

Wall Paint measurements (example):

1. Add together the length of each wall in the room (14ft + 20ft + 14ft + 20ft = 68 ft).

2. Multiply the sum by the wall height,to find the total wall area (68ft x 8ft = 544 sq ft).

3. Subtract 20 square feet for each door (20 x 2 doors = 40) and 15 square feet for each window (15 x 2 windows = 30) to find the actual amount of wall area you are painting.

Ceiling Paint measurements (example):

1. Multiply the length of the ceiling times it's width for the area (14ft x 20ft = 280 sq ft).

Reminder: Each wall is considered a separate canvas. Please measure each wall and ceiling to the best of your ability in order to save money and eliminate grossly over purchased paints and unnecessary supplies.

This process helps us, to help you save even more money!
